I am a passionate Occupational Therapist practicing since 2016.
I am enthusiastic to do the best I can for my clients and their families to achieve the functional outcomes that they need.
The majority of my experience is in the disability industry, working with people who have varying disabilities between the ages of 2 - 70 years old. I am very familiar with the NDIS and all of the processes OTs and participants need to work through to obtain what they need under this system.
I love doing a variety of work, but I have a keen interest in assistive technology and environmental modifications.
In addition to my masters degree qualification I have completed the following further trainings:
- Home Modifications Units CPPACC5016A and CPPACC4020A
- Positive Behaviour Support series
- The Traffic Jam in My Brain Course
- SDA for Occupational Therapists
- UTAS Understanding Traumatic Brain Injury MOOC
- Certificate of Attainment in Team Leadership
- Pathways Australia Management Course
Cassie has been an Occupational Therapist for 12 years, working in both NSW Health and the NDIS space. She has provided supervision and mentoring to other OTs as well as students.
She is passionate about supporting adults who have physical disabilities who require equipment and home modifications to manage daily tasks, and preparing reports to obtain the funding they need for this.
Cassie is very familiar with the NDIS system and processes, having previously provided Specialised Support Coordination services.
Cassie says "I love being an OT as it allows me to listen and have an individual approach with each client to ensure their specific needs and goals are met".
Outside of being an OT, Cassie loves interior design and sourcing items for her home. She likes a good weekend project of upcycling a preloved or vintage piece.
Jamie-Lee is currently studying her occupational therapy degree at Western Sydney University, and she has a strong interest in paediatric occupational therapy.
